It is almost impossible to meet the essential salt requirement through normal feeding, as grass, hay and grain contain hardly any salt. Higher temperatures, exercise or even sweating cause a significant increase in requirements. Salts regulate fluid balance, are essential for the nervous system, enzymes and metabolic processes, and help maintain acid–base balance. Deficiencies can lead to weakness, lethargy, muscle wasting and even severe digestive disorders. For this reason, a salt lick should be available to all grazing animals.

Unlike standard salt, sea salt contains a range of minerals and trace elements that are scarcely found in `regular´ table salt, in a naturally balanced ratio.

Application recommendation for battery-powered units
Battery-powered units are the ideal choice when there is no option for mains connection and the higher output of a rechargeable unit is not required. Typical areas of use are rotational grazing paddocks, horse paddocks and keeping small animals in the yard and garden. Depending on the design, soil conditions and vegetation, the possible fence lengths vary between one and eight kilometres. Switchable power levels not only allow optimum adaptation to different fencing conditions, but also enable particularly economical operation.

With this tester, the fence and the unit can be monitored very easily by means of an indicator light. Three very bright LEDs (light-emitting diodes) flash strongly when the fence voltage is above 3,000 volts. Whether rope, polywire, tape or wire, the tester can be used anywhere and is attached with a clamp. It also offers the possibility of locating a fault along the fence line.

This product is unique of its kind and is characterised by a reel-like crank system consisting of 2 units: the storage element and the crank unit. The latter can be detached and only needs to be purchased once – saving money.

The twist butler is primarily used for fencing small to medium-sized pastures. It is available for fences with a fence height of up to 125 cm. Ideally, one base element (consisting of slider and rod) should be used per fence. The crank is universal and can be used for several base elements.

Sea salt lick with bitter and tannin compounds
Regular intake of bitter and tannin compounds is often greatly underestimated in animal nutrition. Wild counterparts ingest these instinctively to effectively support their gut flora (gut microbiome) and thus their immune system. For effective nutrient absorption, the flow of bile stimulated by bitter substances is essential, as it shifts the intestinal environment towards the alkaline range, which is the only way enzymatic breakdown and feed utilisation can be optimised.

Bitter substances are also particularly important with regard to unwanted intestinal inhabitants, as they can strengthen the body’s own defence against parasites in the animal’s gut and can create a temporary, worm-unfriendly intestinal environment.
