For medium-term urinary drainage: silcoat® catheters with a latex core, additionally coated inside and out with silicone elastomer, provide good protection against encrustation at comparatively low cost. Significantly extended indwelling time compared with conventional latex catheters. Indwelling time up to 1 week.

Particularly flexible and conformable catheters are required, which are optimally compatible with the tissue and do not cause irritation of the mucous membranes. Silclear catheters are ideal for these requirements. Also ideal where a latex allergy is proven or suspected. The optimal alternative – thus completely eliminating any risk of latex allergy. In individual cases, the indwelling time for these catheters can be up to 4 weeks thanks to the non-allergenic and encrustation-inhibiting surfaces.
