Moist Wound Care

Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer consisting of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mesh as the carrier material, coated on both sides with silicone gel (based on polydimethylsiloxane).
This wound contact layer is used for atraumatic wound management and is thin, soft, can be cut to size and is drapable. Due to its open mesh structure, it is permeable to exudate.
It adheres gently and securely to dry surfaces, but not to moist surfaces. This helps prevent adhesion to the wound.

Application
For moist wound management of clinically non-infected wounds with low to moderate exudation, with poor healing tendency and prolonged granulation formation, e.g. in leg ulcers (ulcus cruris) or pressure ulcers; for second-degree burns. The thinner dressing with low absorbency is preferably used during the epithelialisation phase.
