Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer consisting of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mesh as the carrier material, coated on both sides with silicone gel (based on polydimethylsiloxane).
This wound contact layer is used for atraumatic wound management and is thin, soft, can be cut to size and is drapable. Due to its open mesh structure, it is permeable to exudate.
It adheres gently and securely to dry surfaces, but not to moist surfaces. This helps prevent adhesion to the wound.
Application:
Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer that ...
- is used for the treatment of superficial acute and chronic wounds of all kinds with low to moderate exudate.
- is used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds and on areas with sensitive skin.
- is intended for use in combination with the Vivano negative pressure wound therapy system.
