This 6-part model of the female pelvis accurately illustrates the spatial relationships of the bones, ligaments, vessels and nerves, as well as the pelvic floor musculature and the female pelvic organs. It shows the entire pelvic floor, with the external anal sphincter, the external urethral sphincter, the deep and superficial transverse perineal muscles and the bulbospongiosus muscle partially removable and then visible in median section. The rectum, uterus with fallopian tubes and ovaries, and the vagina are also removable and can each be divided into two halves in the median plane. The right half of the pelvis shows the segments and anatomical relationships of the common, external and internal iliac artery as well as the common and external iliac vein. The right sacral plexus, the right sciatic nerve and the right pudendal nerve are also shown.
The model shows the following bones and ligaments: both hip bones, pubic symphysis, sacrum and coccyx, as well as the fifth lumbar vertebra with intervertebral disc. A median section has been made through the fifth lumbar vertebra as well as the sacrum and coccyx, allowing the pelvis to be separated into two halves. This also makes part of the cauda equina in the vertebral canal visible. The left half of the body of the fifth lumbar vertebra is removable. The right half of the model shows the following pelvic ligaments: inguinal ligament, sacrotuberous ligament, sacrospinous ligament, anterior sacroiliac ligaments, iliolumbar ligament, anterior longitudinal ligament, interosseous sacroiliac ligament, posterior sacroiliac ligament and obturator membrane.
