Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer consisting of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mesh as a carrier material, coated on both sides with silicone gel (based on polydimethylsiloxane).
This wound contact layer is used for atraumatic wound management and is thin, soft, can be cut to size and is conformable. Thanks to the open mesh structure, it is permeable to exudate.
It adheres gently and securely to dry surfaces, but not to moist surfaces. This helps to prevent the dressing from sticking to the wound.
Application:
Atrauman Silicone is a wound contact layer that ...
- is used in the treatment of superficial acute and chronic wounds of all types with light to moderate exudation.
- is used as a protective layer on non-exuding wounds and on areas with sensitive skin.
- is intended to be used in combination with the Vivano negative pressure wound therapy system.
