What is Catnip?

The catnip toys we offer are either filled with powder or soaked in a substance. Catnip is a plant that grows in the wild and is known for its effects on cats. The special thing about this plant is that it excites cats, including wildcats. This is due to the scent of the plant, which is caused by the active ingredient actinidine. The scent is similar to that of a female cat’s urine, which is why male cats are particularly attracted to it. Proper cleaning ensures toys remain hygienic.

The Effect of Catnip Toys

Catnip toys provide exciting moments and bring much joy to the cat. At first, the cat will sniff curiously, and then begin playing with full enthusiasm. The cat will cuddle with the toy, drool with joy, and lick it. However, it does not affect every cat—only about every second cat that is of sexual maturity responds to catnip, with a significant proportion being male cats, as the scent resembles that of a female cat.
