Wound Protection

After an injury or operation of the animal, it is important to protect the wound sufficiently from moisture, bacteria and dirt. Since conventional bandages on the paws quickly slip and soaked, protective shoes should be used. These not only help the paws to heal, but can also prevent injuries, such as bruises from the heated asphalt in the summer. If there are wounds or stitches, for example, on the head, tail or paws, it is important to protect them from affecting the animal with the help of a collar. Especially for cats and dogs cervical collars find their application. At Meddax24 you will find a wide variety of wound protection articles for animals. To determine the shoe size, please measure the paw while the dog is standing and bearing weight. Always use the widest part of the paw when selecting the size. If your measurement falls between two sizes, please choose the larger shoes.

Notes on the size information:

1. Back length is measured from the withers to the base of the tail.

The dog should be standing in a natural upright position.

2. Neck circumference is measured at the widest point (base of the neck).

3. Chest girth is measured at the widest part of the chest behind the front legs.

The chest girth of the garment should therefore be 5–10 cm larger than that of your dog to allow sufficient freedom of movement.

4. The length of the front leg is measured from the withers to the start of the paw.

The length of the hind leg is measured from the base of the tail to the start of the paw.

The length stated in the table refers to the leg length of the coat.

The dog’s legs should only be covered partially.
