Octenisept by SCHÜLKE & MAYR is a particularly effective and skin-friendly antiseptic thanks to the unique combination of octenidine and phenoxyethanol. In addition to standard wound care, the antiseptic is also used for the antiseptic treatment of mucous membranes and adjacent skin prior to diagnostic and surgical procedures. octenisept® Wound Disinfectant
Composition: 100 g of solution contain: Medicinally active ingredients: octenidine dihydrochloride 0.1 g, phenoxyethanol (Ph. Eur.) 2.0 g. Other ingredients: 2-[(3-coconut fatty acid amide propyl)dimethylazaniumyl]acetate, sodium D-gluconate, glycerol 85%, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
Indications: For repeated, time-limited supportive antiseptic treatment of wounds.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the medicinally active ingredients or any of the other ingredients. octenisept® Wound Disinfectant should not be used for irrigation in the abdominal cavity (e.g. intraoperatively) or the urinary bladder, and must not be used on the eardrum.
Side effects: As a subjective symptom, a temporary burning sensation may occur in rare cases. In isolated cases, contact-allergic reactions such as temporary redness at the treated area are possible. If you notice side effects other than those described here, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings and precautions for use: To prevent possible tissue damage, the product must not be introduced into tissue under pressure or injected. In wound cavities, drainage must be ensured at all times (e.g. drain, wick). Do not swallow octenisept® Wound Disinfectant in large quantities and do not allow it to enter the bloodstream, e.g. through accidental injection. Avoid using octenisept® Wound Disinfectant in the eye. In the event of accidental contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
