This unique model was produced from computed tomography data of a human (male, approx. 40 years). The special feature of this method is that the natural spatial relationships and the relative positions of the segmental bronchi are preserved in 3D and can be reproduced realistically.
The larynx with hyoid bone and epiglottis, as well as the trachea with main and lobar bronchi, are shown in one colour. At the level of the second tracheal cartilage, the larynx is removable and can be разделён in the median plane. The epiglottis is mounted so that it can move.
The various segmental bronchi are made of flexible material and shown in different transparent colours to make visual differentiation easier.
