With the S-Monovette® you can choose between aspiration or vacuum technique. The S-Monovette® blood collection system gives you complete freedom to select the sampling method. You can collect blood using either the aspiration or vacuum principle, or combine the advantages of both techniques. For multiple sampling, venepuncture and the first blood draw can be performed with the needle attached using the aspiration technique. Thanks to the high transparency of the screw cap, you benefit from excellent visual control during venepuncture. The S-Monovettes can then be filled using the vacuum principle, provided the venous conditions allow. The needle remains in the vein while changing the S-Monovettes, enabling drip-free multiple sampling. Combination options: For blood collection from Luer connections, the S-Monovette® can be combined with the Multi-Adapter. For blood collection with a winged needle, the Multifly® needle with fully assembled adapter is available and can be connected directly to the S-Monovette®. EDTA serves as an anticoagulant for carrying out almost all haematological examinations. EDTA is provided as a solution in a concentration of 1.2–2 mg EDTA/ml blood in the S-Monovette® and in the sample tubes. The dilution caused by the liquid EDTA solution is max. 1%. The anticoagulant effect of EDTA is not impaired by storage-related drying.
