FAST ultrasound examination model
This training model was developed to practise the FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) examination. This examination is used to detect free fluid in the intraperitoneal space or pericardium. The training options include the following examinations:
FAST procedures:
Internal bleeding in the area of the liver, kidney, pelvis and pericardium
Sonography of emergency patients:
Internal bleeding in the area of the pericardium, pleural cavity, liver, spleen and bladder; pathologies such as cholecystitis, an aortic aneurysm and an intestinal injury.
The illustrations show the following ultrasound images:
1. Cardiac tamponade
2. Bleeding in the right upper abdomen
3. Bleeding in the left upper abdomen
4. Bleeding in the pelvis
5. Pleural effusion
6. Perihepatic bleeding
7. Aortic aneurysm
The model is supplied with a transport case and an instructional video on DVD.
