Babies with increased care needs require special nursing skills, including vital care procedures. This newborn model enables medical facilities and nursing staff to teach and learn these procedures and to develop specific care plans. This nursing baby has been developed for a wide range of training purposes, including the training of student nurses. Applicable procedures include tracheostomy care, suction catheter use, gastric tube feeding, and urinary catheterisation. Other general care measures include bathing, nappy changing and various bandaging techniques. Carrying bag included. Tracheostomy tube and gastric tube are not included in the scope of delivery.
Nursing procedures:
- Tracheostomy (insertion and suctioning) - size 3 mm
- Gastrostomy (feeding and flushing) - size 14 FR
- Nasogastric tube (placement, feeding, flushing and suctioning) - size 8 FR or smaller
- Urinary catheterisation (insertion, placement and care) - size 8 FR
- Colostomy (basic care only)
