Newborn Care and ALS Simulator
This training model was developed to meet the requirements of the course curriculum of the “Neonatal Resuscitation Program” of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
It offers a wide range of training options:

Airways, breathing and ventilation
- Anatomical landmarks
- Lung auscultation during ventilation
- Bilateral lung inflation with clearly visible chest rise
- Insertion of an ET tube
- Manual control of ventilation rate and depth
- Positive-pressure ventilation
- Realistic chest compressions
- Sellick manoeuvre
- Unilateral chest movement option (collapsed lung and mainstem intubation)

Birth anomalies
- Neural tube defect (myelomeningocele), easy to attach to the back
- Umbilical hernia (omphalocele)

Chest drainage
- Practice of placing and caring for a chest drain

Cleaning and nappy changing
- Practice of cleaning, bathing and nappy changing
- Waterproof and fully submersible

Gastrointestinal (GI)
- Allows practice of insertion and suctioning with OG/NG tubes

Monitoring
- Various monitors, sensors and electrodes can be applied and connected.

Assessment and measurements
- Assess and measure every body part (head, umbilical stump, skin, etc.)

Scenarios
- Create your own high-risk birth, emergency, transport or intensive care unit scenarios

Skin
- Softness and texture of real skin
- Soft, durable, lifelike skin

Suctioning
- Practice suctioning of the nose, pharynx and stomach

Umbilical stump
- Can be easily attached and removed
- Made of soft, realistic material
- Practise blood sampling or infusion
- Patented umbilical cord with venous and arterial access

Venous access
- Allows the use of IV catheters or butterfly needles
- IV hand and foot with realistic flashback via pressure system
- Soft, lifelike skin with small-lumen tubing for realistic training

Scope of delivery:

Simulator, replaceable airways (2), bilateral lung, collapsed lung, functional (patented) umbilical cord, omphalocele, myelomeningocele, hand skins (2), foot skins (2), venous system for hand, venous system for foot, 500 ml fluid bags (2), 3 cc syringe with needle, 25 gauge infusion butterfly needle, 25 ml syringe, artificial blood powder, lubricant, baby powder and carry case.
