This lifting model clearly illustrates the condition of the spine when lifting correctly versus incorrectly. If the model lifts the load correctly, i.e. bends the knees and keeps the back straight, the vertebral bodies remain aligned and the load is distributed evenly. If the model lifts with straight legs and the upper body bent forwards, the spine flexes apart and the patient can clearly see that the vertebrae in the front section are placed under heavy strain, which leads to disc damage. An indispensable demonstration aid for every practice!
