The Dr. Winkler Bandscheibenfreund was developed as a back cushion to provide anatomically correct support for the lumbar spine when sitting and to mobilise pressure points in the back area, using a shaped inflatable inner section. The Bandscheibenfreund features an inflatable inner section specially shaped for the back by Dr. Winkler.
The height and firmness of the back support are regulated by the amount of air. Light and flexible. The Bandscheibenfreund is hung over the backrest using a permanently attached 80×5 cm strap with a counterweight and positioned exactly where you find it most comfortable.
The inflatable cushion of the Bandscheibenfreund measures approx. 34×20 cm and hangs centrally in the lumbar region on the chair backrest. Thanks to the variable positioning with the strap, you achieve the desired mobility and a constant slight variation of the pressure points being addressed.
The air-filled cushion reduces pressure. The air moving inside the cushion while sitting naturally triggers gentle compensatory movements that mobilise the lumbar region and the back muscles.
The inflatable inner section is made from a durable and soft PU film. Please inflate only to medium firmness; this gives you a soft cushion, and the height and firmness can be adjusted very easily and individually.
Supports body weights up to 150 kg. The Dr. Winkler Bandscheibenfreund comes complete with a hand-sewn fabric cover made of black cotton twill, produced from materials certified to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
The cushion cover has a zip and can be washed by hand. Due to the counterweight permanently integrated into the cover, please do not wash in the washing machine.
Manufactured in our facility in Germany with great care and the best raw materials.

All Dr. Winkler products carry the CE marking. We hereby confirm that the requirements of all EC directives applicable to this product are met.
The air cushion has 1 free-flow air valve for quick inflation and deflation.
The fabric cover is made of a durable polyester-cotton blend in twill weave. The cover is removable and washable.
All parts can also be purchased individually: Bandscheibenfreund inner section, Bandscheibenfreund cover with counterweight.
Without air, the cushion can be folded down small and is easy to take with you when travelling.
The back cushion can be inflated in a short time by mouth or with an air pump.
