exofin® is a particularly fast-drying 2-octyl cyanoacrylate adhesive. The adhesive has an increased viscosity, which reduces the risk of unintended migration of the adhesive during application. In vitro studies have shown that exofin® acts as a barrier against the penetration of microorganisms as long as the adhesive film remains intact. exofin® is intended for topical use on the skin only – and for closing easily approximated wound edges. The adhesive can be used for surgical incisions, including incisions from minimally invasive surgery, as well as for simple, thoroughly cleaned, traumatic lacerations. exofin® can be used in conjunction with, but not as a substitute for, deep dermal sutures.
For minor traumatic injuries and single-port incisions, the use of exofin® is ideal. With the innovative silicone tip, the adhesive is perfectly suited for precise application. The transparent applicator allows the user to see the adhesive before it is expressed from the tip.
