PHILIPS Heartstart HS1 and FRX Battery
M5070A battery for the Heartstart HS1, Heartstart Home and Heartstart FRx defibrillator models. This lithium manganese dioxide battery is non-rechargeable and has a service life of approx. 4 years.

TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE PHILIPS HS1/FRX BATTERY

Date on the battery: production date + latest installation date
Material: Li/MnO2
Service life: approx. 4 years
V/Ah: 9 V – 4.2 Ah
Type: M5070A

When the M5070A lithium battery is depleted, the defibrillator signals this with an audible alert. The status indicator then changes to red and the blue “I” button starts flashing. Pressing it provides spoken information on the status of your Heartstart defibrillator. A depleted battery still has minimal remaining capacity and can therefore still be used for an emergency deployment.

SHELF LIFE OF THE FRX ELECTRODES
Due to the conductive gel layer, electrodes have an expiry date. After this date, the electrodes must no longer be used, as the gel layer can dry out and conductivity is reduced as a result. The Heartstart FRx electrodes have a shelf life of approx. 2 years. The expiry date is stated on the electrode packaging.

USE IN CHILDREN:
For children younger than 8 years and weighing less than 25 kg, special paediatric electrodes are normally used. For the Heartstart FRx, a paediatric key has been developed; this is inserted into the defibrillator during paediatric resuscitation to activate paediatric mode, allowing the normal Smart Pads II electrodes to also be used for children. The shock level is reduced automatically.

PHILIPS Heartstart FRX Child key
This paediatric key is the secret that makes the Philips HeartStart FRx AED so cost-effective. Other defibrillators use paediatric electrodes for children; just like adult electrodes, these must also be replaced regularly. The Philips HeartStart FRx AED uses a “key”; when it is inserted into the device, the defibrillator is suitable for children. The key can be used again and again without needing to be replaced. Compare this with the cost of replacing paediatric electrodes on other AEDs and you will see the savings.

PHILIPS Heartstart FRx Defibrillator
Philips’ SMART Biphasic technology enables personalised treatment tailored to the patient’s specific needs and increases survival rates after cardiac arrest. The FRx’s IP55 rating provides maximum protection against dust and water, and its rugged design withstands a weight of over 200 kilograms. In addition, the FRx is waterproof and offers protection against accidental drops.

Features:

Rugged protective carry case
Rugged, reliable defibrillator for use in all environments
Pre-connected SMART Pads that can be used for both adults and children
Wireless data transmission for easy transfer of information
Flashing display indicates the correct position for placing the electrodes on the casualty
CPR coaching guides you through the CPR resuscitation process
SMART Analysis for assessing the patient’s heart rhythm
SMART Biphasic technology enables treatment tailored to the individual patient
4-year battery\

SMART Analysis: Philips has developed a technology that evaluates the patient’s heart rhythm and ensures that the Philips FRx defibrillator delivers a shock only when required. Even if the patient panics during the rescue process and presses the button too hastily, the defibrillator will only deliver a shock if it is needed.

Paediatric function:

To switch the defibrillator to child mode, simply insert the optional Infant/Child Key. The device’s pre-connected SMART Pads II are suitable for both adults and children. This means no time is wasted changing pads. And there are no additional costs for purchasing different electrode sizes for different patient types.

PHILIPS Heartstart HS1 Electrodes for children
The Philips HeartStart HS1 paediatric electrode set is used for defibrillation of children aged 1–8 years or weighing less than 25 kg. The electrode cartridge can be stored pre-connected in the defibrillator; however, it is usually kept in its packaging next to the defibrillator. When these electrodes are used, the defibrillator’s shock level is automatically reduced. The exact electrode placement is shown both on the packaging and on the electrodes.

Pre-connected possible

Shelf life approx. 2 years
Storage temperature between 10°C and 43°C
Electrode cable length: 137.1 cm

SHELF LIFE OF THE HS1 PAEDIATRIC ELECTRODES
Due to the conductive gel layer, electrodes have an expiry date. After this date, the electrodes must no longer be used, as the gel layer can dry out and the conductivity decreases as a result. The electrodes are protected from drying out by a vacuum-sealed foil; however, this foil must not be damaged. The electrode cartridge cover provides additional protection. The HeartStart HS1 paediatric electrodes have a shelf life of approx. 2 years. The exact expiry date is shown on the front of the packaging.

USE IN CHILDREN:
These electrodes are specifically designed for smaller children’s bodies. During paediatric resuscitation, one electrode is placed on the chest and the other on the back.

PHILIPS Heartstart HS1 in Carrying bag
Philips HeartStart HS1 is designed for use by anyone

Philips is a world-leading manufacturer of portable defibrillators for use in airports, aircraft, businesses, public areas and private homes. The Philips HeartStart Home Defibrillator was developed for use by anyone, at any time and in any place, and can be used by virtually anyone in a life-saving situation when every second counts. This award-winning defibrillator has been rated No. 1 for ease of use.

The HS1 defibrillator comes pre-installed in its own carry case, with the battery and electrode pads already connected to the device. Simply pull up the handle on the front of the AED to switch it on, remove the electrode pads and begin defibrillation. Calm, clear voice prompts guide the rescuer through the defibrillation process. In addition, the Philips HeartStart features integrated CPR coaching that guides the rescuer through the correct CPR technique.

Philips SMART Biphasic therapy uses a unique combination of high current – to maximise effectiveness – and a low energy dose – to minimise side effects that can be harmful to a weakened heart. This AED undergoes a 120-point test before it leaves the factory and performs daily self-tests throughout its service life. Overall, the defibrillator carries out more than 80 different self-tests, checking not only the device itself but also the batteries and electrodes.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is crucial to increase the patient’s chances of survival; therefore, delivering a shock quickly after chest compressions is essential. The Quick Shock feature of this defibrillator reduces the time between the “stand clear” prompt and shock delivery. The SMART Pads detect when they have been removed from the cartridge and applied to the patient. This helps the AED determine exactly where the helper is in the response process, so it can continue to provide step-by-step instructions.

Key features:

IP21 rating
Custom Philips carry case
SMART Biphasic technology
SMART ECG analysis technology
The self-test function ensures that the defibrillator is always ready for use
Clear visual and audible instructions that guide the rescuer through both defibrillation and resuscitation
