AMBU A/S is a Danish company specialising in the manufacture and distribution of medical products. Its headquarters are located in Ballerup (north-west of Copenhagen). According to current figures, around 4,000 people are employed by AMBU A/S worldwide. Ambu has subsidiaries all over the world. However, they are primarily active in North America and Europe. In addition to ventilation, the main business areas include training and practice manikins as well as electrodes for ECG devices. The company became well known in 1954 thanks to the Danish anaesthetist Henning Ruben and the German engineer Holger Hesse, who jointly invented the resuscitator bag. Ventilation remains one of the largest revenue segments, and we also stock these high-quality products from AMBU.
