Training arm for intravenous injection
The injection model is intended to give trainee doctors and medical support staff the opportunity to practise intravenous injection techniques. The model is made of a soft plastic with a replaceable skin and a replaceable injection site in the crook of the elbow, in which the median cubital vein (V. mediana cubiti) is replicated by a tube. Under the skin, the vein is visible and can also be easily palpated. In the model, the tension of the skin and the characteristics of the engorged vein are reproduced to be close to real life. The model is particularly characterised by the option to realistically apply a tourniquet to the vein and, by applying lubricant, simulate a rolling vein. This multi-purpose training model is suitable for imaging with X-ray systems and computed tomography scanners.
