Dressing Materials

In medicine, the term dressing means different types of compresses, bandages, plasters, compression bandages, swabs and tamponades, as well as net dressings and tubular dressings. In addition to dressings with wound dressings, there are many other ways to apply a dressing. Therefore, dressing material can be used as a support bandage, fixation bandage, compression bandage and also as a functional bandage or underlay bandage for plaster casts. In summary, dressings can be divided into three categories: Cover dressings to protect against contamination, pressure dressings to prevent bleeding and restraining dressings for immobilization. In our online store we offer you a comprehensive range of different bandages. Bandages and compression bandages in different lengths and sizes, absorbent compresses and various plasters, but also bandage dispensers, so that no wishes remain open.

HARTMANN Atrauman Ointment compress
Atrauman is an ointment dressing that effectively supports wound healing in all phases and, thanks to the specific benefits of the material components used, ensures atraumatic wound care.

Application:
For general wound care, in particular to keep wound surfaces and wound edges supple, e.g. for abrasions or lacerations as well as burns or scalds; in plastic and cosmetic surgery, for nail extractions, phimosis operations, etc.; to cover donor and recipient sites in skin grafting; also ideal in dermatology and for patients with sensitive skin or sensitivity to medicines.

Characteristics:
The thin, soft mesh tulle made of hydrophobic polyester fibres with a smooth surface structure inhibits tissue ingrowth into the dressing and thus counteracts the tendency to adhere to the wound.

The non-adherent effect of Atrauman is additionally supported by the ointment impregnation, allowing gentle dressing changes.

Atrauman keeps wound surfaces and wound edges supple and protects the wound from drying out. It helps prevent problematic scar contractures.

The ointment base itself is gas-permeable and permeable to exudate. This ensures sufficient air supply to the wound and rapid transport of excess exudate. For absorption of exudate, an absorbent pad should be applied over Atrauman.

The ointment base contains no added petroleum jelly or other paraffins. There are no ointment residues that are difficult to remove. The condition of the wound can be assessed reliably and cleaning is made easier.

The ointment base contains no active substances and is non-sensitising. Therapeutically active substances can be added in a targeted and safe manner at the physician’s discretion.

HARTMANN Grassolind Ointment compress
Grassolind ointment dressings are made from a wide-mesh cotton fabric impregnated with an active-ingredient-free, skin-neutral ointment base. They are therefore particularly suitable for wound treatment in dermatology and for patients with sensitive skin or sensitivity to medicines.

Application:
For general wound treatment, in particular to keep wound surfaces and wound edges supple, e.g. for extensive abrasions or lacerations as well as burns or scalds; in plastic and cosmetic surgery, for nail extractions, phimosis operations, etc.; to cover the donor site in skin grafting and to fix split-thickness skin grafts; also ideal in dermatology and for patients with sensitive skin or sensitivity to medicines.

Characteristics:
Branolind keeps wound surfaces and wound edges supple in all phases of wound healing and protects the wound from drying out. Granulation and re-epithelialisation are promoted, and troublesome scar contractures are effectively prevented.

Branolind does not adhere to the wound. Dressing changes are painless. The wound can remain undisturbed.

The wide-mesh gauze tulle allows oxygen to reach the wound and ensures good ventilation. Secretions can drain away freely, preventing moist chambers.

In addition, the gauze tulle can easily be cut into small pieces, e.g. as a secure matrix for split-thickness skin grafts. If required, the ointment dressings can be fixed to healthy skin with sutures.

Any wound-specific therapeutic agents that may be required can be added at any time.
