With Thermo Scientific Dermatophyte Selective Agar (Taplin), dermatophytes and other fungi can be selectively isolated and rapidly differentiated. The medium contains cycloheximide, gentamicin and chlortetracycline, which suppress the accompanying bacterial flora as well as, in part, the growth of other yeasts and moulds. A colour change in the medium distinguishes dermatophytes from other fungi that may be present.

Human skeleton on safety stand with castors
The artificial skeleton is true to nature – it is known as a facsimile edition, as all parts were moulded directly from natural bones, allowing an incredible amount of detail and the fine structure of the bones to be reproduced with great accuracy. The artificial skeleton is made from a special plastic that is unbreakable in normal use and remains dimensionally stable and colourfast. All bones are individually finished by hand and carefully assembled and mounted as with a natural skeleton. All joints are fully movable by means of hinges. For individual demonstrations, arms and legs are easy to remove. The skull, which is also removable, can be separated into three parts: lower jaw, skullcap and skull base. After removing the skullcap, the skull base can be studied from the inside. Upper and lower jaw with removable teeth. The skeleton is approx. 180 cm tall (including stand) and mounted on a mobile five-legged safety stand.

It has a complete set of teeth with individual teeth and fully developed roots. As with a natural skull, you can now remove the teeth of the upper and lower jaw individually and reinsert them. The mandible can be removed. On one side, the mandible is opened with a bone flap so that the tooth root, the cancellous bone, the nerve canal and an impacted wisdom tooth become visible.
