Human Models

Human models provide a precise representation of human anatomy and are ideal for use in medical training and patient education. From detailed organ models to complete skeletons, these models help to make complex relationships understandable. The human models are made from durable materials and allow for a clear visualization of anatomical structures, so you can clearly explain the human body to your patients and students.

MEGRO Human skeleton on safety stand with rollers
Human skeleton on safety stand with castors
The artificial skeleton is true to nature – it is known as a facsimile edition, as all parts were moulded directly from natural bones, allowing an incredible amount of detail and the fine structure of the bones to be reproduced with great accuracy. The artificial skeleton is made from a special plastic that is unbreakable in normal use and remains dimensionally stable and colourfast. All bones are individually finished by hand and carefully assembled and mounted as with a natural skeleton. All joints are fully movable by means of hinges. For individual demonstrations, arms and legs are easy to remove. The skull, which is also removable, can be separated into three parts: lower jaw, skullcap and skull base. After removing the skullcap, the skull base can be studied from the inside. Upper and lower jaw with removable teeth. The skeleton is approx. 180 cm tall (including stand) and mounted on a mobile five-legged safety stand.

MEGRO Human skull dissectible into 4 parts
Homo skull, separable into 4 parts
Artificial Homo skull in natural size. The skull is moulded from a natural Homo skull with excellent reproduction of all anatomical details. It has a complete set of teeth with individual teeth and fully developed roots. As with a natural skull, you can now remove the teeth of the upper and lower jaw individually and reinsert them. The mandible can be removed. On one side, the mandible is opened with a bone flap so that the tooth root, the cancellous bone, the nerve canal and an impacted wisdom tooth become visible. The skullcap is removable to allow a view into the fully developed base of the skull. Overall, the skull can be taken apart into four parts. Indispensable for medical and dental professionals, for anatomy teaching and for health education. Unbreakable in normal use.

RÜDIGER ANATOMIE Hanging skeleton with hanging hook and hanging stand
A201 Hanging Skeleton

Like the A200, but with a gallows-style stand. This eliminates the pin protruding from the sacrum. The skeleton can be removed and can also be seated for demonstration purposes. Incl. stand approx. 190 cm high, 12 kg.

All bones of the skeleton are 100% moulded from a real human skeleton. With this original, we paid attention not only to ideal bone structures but also to certain anatomical special features (e.g. an impacted wisdom tooth in the mandible or a malposition of the coccyx).

All details and fine structures of each individual human bone are reproduced exactly. Anatomically correct and absolutely true to nature!

The skeleton shows all of the usual 206 to 214 bones of a normal adult. All 24 individual vertebrae, all 12 ribs on each side of the body, all 26 bones per foot and all 27 bones per hand and per side of the body are shown individually and carefully assembled.

Of course, all skeletons are equipped with individual patellae and with a hyoid bone.

The joints of the arms and legs are designed so that all natural movements can be replicated. For example, the crossed and parallel positions of the radius and ulna when rotating the wrist can be clearly demonstrated. Using special sliding-joint hinges (see photo) for attaching the arms and legs to the torso, sliding movements within the shoulder and hip joints are also possible. The arms and legs are removable.

The skull of our A200 is the hallmark of our skeletons! No other manufacturer equips its skeletons with such a high-quality skull! It is removable and can be disassembled into four parts: the mandible is removable. A bone flap in the mandible allows views of the tooth root, cancellous bone, nerve canal and an impacted wisdom tooth. Most of the teeth of a normal adult can be removed individually from the jaw and reinserted using a special adhesive. The skullcap is removable to provide a view of the fully developed base of the skull. All nerve canals in the skull base are opened.

The skeleton is supplied with a mobile 5-leg stand and a dust cover. Height incl. stand: 180 cm, width: 40 cm, stand diameter: 60 cm, weight incl. stand: 11 kg.

The manufacturing process

Maximum detail fidelity of the individual bones is achieved through elaborate artisan manufacturing. From the master mould to the finished skeleton – with us, everything is still made in-house – here in Germany. In our workshop, a single A200 standard skeleton is produced by hand from around 500 individual parts, including approx. 200 bones, 24 intervertebral discs and 31 individual teeth, in more than 10 working hours. All bone parts are first cast, then hand-finished, polished and finally carefully assembled.

This elaborate manufacturing process has a direct impact on the quality, workmanship and precision of detail of the entire model. That is why our skeletons are hardly distinguishable from real ones.

The material

The skeleton is made from a particularly strong, unbreakable-in-normal-use, anatomical special plastic. Like all our supplied products, this is manufactured in Germany by a German company. Only in this way can we meet not only EU requirements but also our own high quality standards.

No other manufacturer worldwide succeeds in producing a skeleton from such hard plastic as Rüdiger-Anatomie. As a result, the skeleton remains dimensionally stable and colourfast even after many years. Another advantage of the extraordinary strength of the Rüdiger-Anatomie bone material is the low proportion of chemical plasticisers in the plastic. Because it contains hardly any plasticisers, no plasticisers can be released into the environment. Odour formation or environmental contamination by toxic substances due to outgassing of the plastic – by no means unknown in models from the Far East – does not occur with Rüdiger-Anatomie.

The material colour

Rüdiger-Anatomie deliberately uses so-called “light ivory” as the plastic colour. Compared with pure white, this has the advantage that important anatomical details such as structures, fissures and foramina stand out better because they are not overpowered by the white.
