It features realistic PVC skin and latex veins, so that the skin actually creases when the vein is palpated, and when the needle enters the vein, the characteristic “pop” can be felt. With correct insertion, there is realistic flashback. The arm can be rotated at the elbow, allowing easy access to the antecubital fossa, forearm and back of the hand. A bony landmark at the shoulder helps identify muscle tissue for intramuscular injections.

This soft abdominal replica is an invaluable aid for explaining to patients the correct injection technique and rotation of the injection site while avoiding the 5 cm area around the navel, as well as for practising self-injection with a wide range of syringe types, including pen-type injectors. The trainer has lifelike skin that feels as if real abdominal tissue lies underneath. The model has a soft plastic back to prevent needles from passing through, as well as holes that allow air circulation and drying if you wish to inject liquid. You can inject distilled water; however, the more you inject, the longer the model will take to dry. Real insulin should not be used, as this could damage the plastics. The injection abdomen is designed as a consumable item; with proper care and handling, it can be used for a long time. Using the smallest possible needle and rotating the injection site significantly extends the service life of the model.

The torso has 7 anterior and 8 posterior auscultation sites that can be used with standard stethoscopes. This allows more than one student to auscultate at the same time. All sounds are classified according to American Thoracic Society guidelines.
