A red rag to many riders and horse owners are mares that are strongly in season. While some mares come into season quietly, other equine ladies develop into real Xanthippes.

If the mares’ reactions go beyond what is normal, this can become a real problem for the rider. The result is often rideability issues such as resisting the rider’s leg, bucking, clamping down, tail swishing and tension-related back problems.

Their behaviour towards other horses also frequently leads to unpleasant situations. Whether aggressive behaviour towards neighbouring box-mates and herd members, or persistent teasing of geldings, mounting other mares – an extremely in-season mare brings unrest to the stable community and the herd and irritates both two- and four-legged companions.

With its balanced composition based on chaste tree berry, green oats and a selection of herbs, EquiGreen RosseRegulat is an ideal feed supplement for mares that come into season strongly.

Complementary feed for horses

Composition: Chaste tree berry, green oats, rosehip shells, malt germs, brewer’s yeast, couch grass root, milk thistle, wild pansy, raspberry leaves

Analytical constituents and levels: crude protein 9.3%, crude fat 4.4%, crude fibre 23.0%, crude ash 8.8%, calcium 0.75%, sodium 0.10%, phosphorus 0.26%, hydrochloric acid insoluble ash 4.5%

Additives per kg: technological additives: bentonite 1m558i 34 g, clinoptilolite of sedimentary origin 1g568 20 g

Feeding recommendation: for 8 weeks, once daily. Ponies up to 400 kg: 1–2 scoops, horses up to 600 kg: 2–3 scoops, horses over 600 kg: 3–5 scoops

1 measuring scoop corresponds to approx. 8.5 g

The total amount of bentonite must not exceed the maximum permitted level of 20,000 mg/kg complete feed in complete feeds.

The total amount of clinoptilolite of sedimentary origin from all sources must not exceed the maximum level of 10,000 mg/kg complete feed.

Simultaneous oral administration of macrolides should be avoided.
