The Dr. Winkler Bandscheibenfreund with hand pump was developed as a variably adjustable back cushion for anatomically appropriate support of the lumbar spine when sitting and for mobilising pressure points in the back area. The Bandscheibenfreund with hand pump has an inflatable inner section specially shaped by Dr. Winkler for the back.
The height and firmness of the back support are regulated by the amount of air via a permanently attached hand pump. Light and flexible. The cushion is inflated using the hand pump and deflated using the release valve.
With a permanently attached 80×5 cm long strap with counterweight, the Bandscheibenfreund is hung over the backrest and positioned exactly at the point you find comfortable.
The inflatable cushion of the Bandscheibenfreund measures approx. 34×20 cm and hangs centrally in the lumbar region on the chair back. Thanks to the variable positioning with the strap, you achieve the desired mobility and also a continuous slight change of the targeted pressure points.
The air-filled cushion reduces pressure load. The air that moves inside the cushion while sitting naturally causes gentle compensatory movements that mobilise the lumbar area and back muscles.
The inflatable inner section is made of a durable and soft PU film. Please inflate only to a semi-firm level; this gives you a soft cushion, and the height and firmness are very easy to adjust individually.
Supports up to 150 kg body weight. The Dr. Winkler Bandscheibenfreund comes complete with a hand-sewn fabric cover made of black cotton twill, manufactured from materials certified to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
The cushion cover has a zip and can be hand-washed. To remove the cover, the hand pump must first be detached. Due to the counterweight permanently integrated into the cover, please do not machine wash.
Made in our facility in Germany with great care and the best raw materials.

All Dr. Winkler products carry the CE marking. We hereby confirm that the requirements of all applicable EC directives for this product are met.
The air cushion is permanently connected via a transparent hose to a hand pump with release valve.
The fabric cover is made from a durable polyester-cotton blend in twill weave.
All parts can also be purchased individually: Bandscheibenfreund inner section with hand pump, Bandscheibenfreund cover with counterweight.
Without air, the cushion folds down small and is easy to take with you when travelling.
