The Physio-Control Lifepak paediatric electrode set is used for defibrillating children aged 1–8 years or with a body weight of less than 25 kg. As soon as the paediatric electrodes are connected to the defibrillator, the shock level is automatically reduced. The exact positioning of the electrodes is shown both on the packaging and on the electrodes themselves.
Due to the conductive gel layer, electrodes have an expiry date. After this date, the electrodes must no longer be used, as the gel layer can dry out and conductivity is reduced. Please ensure that the defibrillator is always supplied with a pair of electrodes with a current expiry date. Physio-Control Lifepak paediatric electrodes have a shelf life of approx. 1.5–2 years. The exact expiry date can be found on the front of the packaging.
