Acid Protect® neutralises and buffers excess stomach acid. It also helps rebuild the gastric mucosa and protects it against renewed attacks.
Performance horses often suffer from gastric ulcers. This can have various causes, e.g. feeding breaks of more than 6 hours, concentrate-rich and low-roughage rations, box stabling, stress or a training-related increase in stomach pressure.
Horses often react with fluctuating appetite, changes in temperament or a dull coat, in severe cases even colic. Acid Protect® is an alternative to support horses with gastric hyperacidity. The mineral compounds contained in Acid Protect®, such as magnesium oxide and dicalcium phosphate, have a high acid-neutralising potential. The psyllium husk included promotes intestinal motility. Marshmallow releases a mucilaginous layer during digestion, which coats the horse’s intestinal wall. Antioxidants generally promote regeneration processes and support the immune system. Acid Protect® is also suitable for foals.
Horse - weeks 1-3: 3-4 scoops/day
Horse - from week 4: 1-1.5 scoops/day
Pony/foal - weeks 1-3: 1.5-2 scoops/day
Pony/foal - from week 4: 0.5 - 1 scoop/day
Composition
Fenugreek seed (Trigonella foenum-graecum), dicalcium phosphate 8%, alfalfa, products from the processing of plants: psyllium (Plantago ovata) 8%, marshmallow leaves (Althea officinalis) 5%, glutamine peptide (wheat protein), liquorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra), mint leaves (Mentha spicata) 0.7%, carrots (Daucus carota) 0.6%, schisandra berries (Schisandra chinensis) 0.3%, rosehip shells (Rosa canina), milk thistle (Silybum marianum), dandelion leaves (Taraxacum officinale) 0.2%, turmeric (Curcuma longa), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) 0.1%, ginger root (Zingiber officinale) and ginkgo leaves (Gingko biloba); rapeseed oil, magnesium oxide 2%, yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), monopropylene glycol 0.9%, sodium chloride, chicory inulin, dried chlorella algae.
